ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Chuck Close grew up in America, and first started painting in the 70s. He quickly adapted his unique style of filling in sometimes hundreds of boxes to developed his full work.

BREAKING DOWN HIS WORK:
The main goal of the grand pieces is when looking at it from a far the picture comes together. He establishes this by using almost no line and instead heavily realizes on the variety in the color to do the work for you.

MY TAKE ON THE WORK:

Done digitaly, I used a grid
out lines to set up a map for his
​
style. After this I took the time
to really focus on the hues and
differences in the shapes.
Lastly trying to accomplish
balance I did a plain ,yet
textured, blue background.
This also give light to the
Chuck who tends to use plain
colors as backgrounds.
